The trip is for school pupils in years 5-9, between the ages of 9 and 13 on the date of departure

The trip is being organised by Jet2holidays in partnership with Sol Katmandu Park & Resort and WST Travel.

The trip is taking place between Friday 20th and Sunday 22nd April 2018.

The trip is to Calvia, Majorca.

The trip will be hosted by a team of experts from Jet2holidays, WST Travel and Sol Katmandu.

The entry deadline is 18:00 on Wednesday 28th February 2018.

Emmerdale celebrity, Anthony Quinlan, will choose the shortlist of 5 schools in each of Jet2holidays’ nine UK airport regions. He will base his decision on what he feels are the most creative and inspiring entries.

The shortlisted schools will be informed by 17:00 on Wednesday 7th March 2018.

The five shortlisted schools from each of Jet2.com's 9 airport regions will go to a public vote via Jet2holidays’ social media channels. The public vote will run from 09:00 on Monday 12th March 2018 to 18:00 on Friday 16th March 2018 and during this period you can drum up as much support as possible. The school with the most votes in each airport region will be the overall winners.

You will be able to vote at ultimateschooltrip.jet2holidays.com. To ensure the competition is fair people will only be allowed to cast one vote.

The winning schools will be announced at 17:00 on Monday 19th March 2018

Below are the flight times for each airport. Please note important information for the following outbound flights:

  • Belfast: the winning school will be flown to Manchester Airport on the evening of the 21st April 2018 and provided overnight accommodation ahead of the flight on the 22nd.
  • Edinburgh: The winning school will travel on the Glasgow flight

Yes, transfers to and from your school and UK airport plus all transfers in Majorca will be provided by fully audited and approved coach companies.

No there will be other customers both on our flights and in the hotel, however each school will be allocated seats together on the aircraft and an entire floor each at Sol Katmandu. Areas in the hotel and Katmandu Park will also be closed to other guests / the public for exclusive use for the trip.

Yes, this is an all-expenses paid trip however you might want to tell your class to bring some spending money if they want to buy any souvenirs at the airport.

Yes, Jet2holidays will provide accommodation at hotels at each of its 9 UK airports for any classes wanting to stay the night before the outbound flights.

As with any group school trip we will require you to provide the required number of teachers / adults to look after the number of children in your class and you will have overall responsibility for them on the trip. Sol Katmandu, Jet2.com aircraft and the coach transfer companies have been fully audited by Jet2holidays and WST Travel and meet all required health and safety criteria.

Each school will be allocated their own floor at the hotel. Up to 2-3 children will be sharing a fully safe-guarded room, all sleeping in single beds. Teacher rooms will be interspersed along student corridors.

Yes, we have a special assistance team who can discuss individual children’s special assistance requirements. We do ask teachers to ensure that all children are fit and healthy to travel.

Yes, we can give you the prize in either a cheque or vouchers.

We want to jet-power each child’s imagination so we are not being restrictive on format. It’s down to each individual child or class group to decide what they want to create. It can be a poster, logo, poem, picture, video or whatever they want.

You can either post them to Ultimate School Trip Competition, c/o Social Media Team, Jet2holidays, The Mint, Sweet Street, Leeds, LS11 9AW or send them by email to USTteam@jet2.com.

You can either provide one joint entry from the whole class or one entry from each pupil within the class, but no more than one entry per pupil or class.

Yes, if they are in Years 5 – 9. We will allow only one entry per pupil or class.

Yes, we will be capturing the full trip for our media and social media channels. In addition, media will be invited on the trip. We will require you to provide relevant parental consent forms for children to take part in filming and photography and make us aware of any children unable to be involved in publicity.

Yes, we will be providing travel insurance for everyone on the trip.

Yes, WST Travel is part of the STF which means that it is fully committed to safeguarding standards in educational travel. WST holds all the trade body licences including ATOL, ABTA, STF and LOtC so you can be confident that your trip is in safe hands.

The interactive workshops will focus on key stages of the national curriculum relevant to years 5-9. There will be a Science workshop hosted by Dick & Dom, Drama workshop hosted by Pirates Adventure plus a Crafts and History workshop hosted by popular children’s TV presenters. We will be confirming the other celebrities shortly.

Either a whole class or individual pupil can enter however entries must be submitted by the teacher. Unfortunately, we can’t accept entries from either children or parents / carers.

Unfortunately, because of the full schedule we can’t add in any individual activities or excursions for each school and ask that teachers keep their class at Sol Katmandu for the entire trip.

We are planning another school roadshow in February to help schools with their entry. If you’re keen to get involved, then please email USTteam@jet2.com.

We will provide refreshments on both the outbound and return flights plus all food and drink at Sol Katmandu. You will need to advise us of any special dietary requirements or allergies in advance of the trip.

It is the teacher’s responsibility to ensure that everyone going on the trip has a valid passport.

Throughout the trip we will be doing a Golden Ticket treasure hunt. If either a teacher or child finds a golden ticket, they will win a Jet2holidays family holiday to Sol Katmandu for summer 2018. Details of how to claim the prize and terms and conditions for the holiday will be outlined in the prize voucher each winner will receive.

We have allocated 30 places for children in the class and 5 for teachers / accompanying adults.

The personal contact data you share with your entry will not be shared with any third parties beyond Jet2holidays and WST Travel. If your entry is shortlisted this will go to the public vote so your entry, school name and the name of the pupils who produced the entry will be shared. Please advise if we are unable to share any specific pupil names. Should you be a lucky finalist, your data will need to be shared with relevant suppliers in order to fulfil the trip. WST Travel will ask you to complete an Information Sharing Agreement as part of your booking confirmation.
